Todd Chrisley isn’t looking forward to his first Thanksgiving behind bars.

Todd, 54, and his wife, Julie Chrisleyboth reported to prison in January after being found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy. Two months earlier, Todd and Julie, 50, were sentenced to 12 and seven years in prison respectively. Todd is currently serving his sentence at the federal prison camp in Pensacola, Florida while Julie is at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Although the couple won’t be sitting down for a family meal this Thanksgiving, their daughter Savannah Chrisley plans to visit them both at some point during the holiday season, TMZ reported.
Savannah, 26, recently opened up about a victory that gave her hope this holiday season: an appeals court granting a request for oral arguments in her parents’ case.
“We’re spending Thanksgiving a little differently this year because I wasn’t going to pretend. I wasn’t going to do the traditional Thanksgiving that we’re always used to,” Savannah explained via Instagram video » on Monday, November 20. “But I received a call this morning and the court of appeal accepted our arguments. I was literally sobbing. It’s one step closer to getting mom and dad home. The children panic. I am going crazy. …It’s just incredible.
Savannah said oral arguments will begin the week of March 25, 2024. “Only about six percent of cases submitted for oral arguments are accepted. So this is huge news,” she shared. “We can go there and talk about why mom and dad should be home. God is good. Thanksgiving victory! »
Despite the good news, life in prison is no picnic – and Savannah says her attempts to raise awareness about alleged prison conditions have come at a cost.
“It’s been really hard (for my parents) since I started talking about everything,” Savannah said. Entertainment tonight earlier this month. “That was the hardest part. Even more for dad. There is there was a lot of retaliationso we have to worry (for him).
Savannah claimed guards started picking on her father after she called his prison a ‘death trap’ via Instagram. “They’re trying to move him from the facility he’s in now, because of the last few things I posted. And that’s the hard part: once you start speaking out, you have to pay the price,” she said.
In the midst of her parents’ legal woes, Savannah took custody his brother Grayson, 17, and his brother Kyle ChrisleyChloe’s 11-year-old daughter, whom her parents adopted in 2017. The reality TV star has been candid about the ups and downs of being a tutor.
“I try to be a good adult figure in their lives, but it’s really hard being 25 and having two kids and trying to figure out what’s best for them because normally you grow up — we go from one to two, then three to three. four,” she explained during a May episode of her podcast “Unlocked.” “We grow through the ages. Now I’m just thrown inside.
In addition to adjusting to her new family dynamic, Savannah finds time for romantic love. Her and her boyfriend Robert Shiver made their relationship official on Instagram earlier this month.
