Last April, a popular beer brand was the target of a successful boycott that severely affected its sales.
Today, Paris Hilton is the subject of criticism and a petition from like-minded activist groups.

Anheuser-Busch (BUD) had sent transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney specially designed cans of Bud Light with portraits of Mulvaney’s face as part of an effort to appeal to the transgender and LGBTQ+ community.
When Mulvaney featured Bud Light cans in a social media post, the boycott began.
More recently, an advertisement for a Hilton hotel (HLT) The loyalty points program prompts activist groups to cry foul:
“It’s hot,” says Paris Hilton in the ad
The ad features a crowd of men and women, all dressed in pink, gathering in a hotel lobby with travel bags and their dogs.
“Hilton Honors is killing it,” says a woman dressed in pink, looking at her phone. “Obsessed,” adds a man, looking at his device.
“Points for a free stay?” asks another woman. “Yes please.”
“All these perks? We’re saving,” says a woman wearing sunglasses, referring to Paris Hilton’s term for slaying and living the good life — with glamor and success.
“When you want celebrity treatment, it doesn’t matter who you are, it matters where you stay,” a narrator is heard saying.
“It’s hot,” says Paris Hilton.
After viewing the ad, the activist group One Million Moms (OMM) posted a history on its website with the headline “Hilton attempts to glamorize sin.”
The OMM article ends with a link allowing readers to sign a petition “urging Hilton to immediately remove its LGBTQ-inclusive advertising.”
Activist groups have different reactions to Hilton ad
One Million Moms writes that she thinks Hilton is pushing an agenda with the publicity.
“Hilton is attempting to normalize the LGBTQ lifestyle with its liberal advertising choices,” the organization wrote. “The hotel chain is obviously pushing the LGBTQ agenda with this ad, which features individuals, couples and families, all in blatantly gender-confused roles.”
The petition states in part: “Your ad featuring a gay couple and men in drag offends me, and it offends many other conservative consumers as well. »
The publication Them viewed the petition and shared their own reaction.
“There is no greater rivalry than that between conservatives and nominally gay advertisements,” he writes. “The latest brand accused of promoting the woke agenda? None other than Hilton Hotels & Resorts.”
“It’s unclear where the supposed men in drag are located, as the advert features more male individuals in suits and more female individuals in dresses,” Them added.
Hilton Honors members enjoy exclusive benefits such as earning points on stays that can be converted into free nights, Hilton explains on its website.
