We rate wireless car chargers based on a variety of criteria, including design, features, performance and value.
When we review the design, we check whether the mount fits securely to the dashboard or air vent (some mounts also fit CD slots or cup holders) and test its durability for at least two weeks of use.
For features, we’re looking at the inclusion of an auto-clamping mechanism, MagSafe compatibility, and the type of power adapter and cable included. Some charging cables are integrated into the charger design while others feature a detachable cable. Additionally, some power adapters have additional ports for plugging in a second cable, allowing you to charge a second device.
When it comes to performance, we look at the power of a magnet on the stand and wireless charging speeds for iPhones and Android devices.
When selecting the best products, we also take into account the value for money they offer. Value is determined by the quality of the product relative to its price.
