Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger explained to Republicans why Trump is not a victim of Biden’s Justice Department.
Kinzinger told CNN’s Jim Acosta:
You know, I’ve been trying to ask myself, you know, is the truth important to some of these people? You know, do they care about the truth or not? I think most Americans do. There may be a certain group in the base that does not.
But here’s the truth. Donald Asset is not a victim of Joe Biden’s Justice Department. Donald Trump is the victim of launching an insurrection on January 6, of trying to hide classified documents that the DOJ frankly gave him ample opportunity to return, of paying hush money, of, you know, all that kind of stuff he’s being judged for. his own doing. So saying you’re going to come in, that’s how banana republics are done. When you’re just suing the last administration because you’re upset.
Look, it’s very dangerous to go after the last administration if we don’t have what we had in recent years. In this case, I think it’s more dangerous for the country not to go after the last president who attempted a coup.
All you have to do, Jim — and you know this — is look at the comments from people like Kevin McCarthy after January 6. Look at the comments from all these people saying what he did was impenetrable, what he did was beyond normal. They may be changing what they say now, but they haven’t changed the facts from a few years ago.

Kinzinger was right. Most Americans care about the truth. I would argue that this is not the case for most true Trump supporters. These people still constitute a minority in the country. What is happening now is that Donald Trump is trying to use grievance politics and lying to convince at least the necessary majority of states to give him 270 votes in the Electoral College to return him to power.
Trump is very dangerous and no one should assume he is joking. Trump is known for his lack of sense of humor. Donald Trump isn’t kidding when he talks about ending democracy or going after journalists.
When Donald Trump presents himself as a dictator, we must take him seriously.
