Cancel your plans this Sunday. You’re going to want to dedicate the day to football.
Week 9 of the 2023-2024 NFL season is loaded with incredible games and they start early this week. The Chiefs and Dolphins will play in Germany, so sound an alarm. (It’s unclear if Taylor Swift will also make the trip.) The Cowboys and Eagles will face off in an NFC East battle.
Sunday evening, however, is when things get really interesting and dramatic. Damar Hamlin and the Buffalo Bills return to Cincinnati, where Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field just 10 months ago. This is a game that will likely attract even non-fans for a while.
Here’s a look at how to watch and what to expect from this week’s games.

How can I watch NFL games for free, even if I’m out of market?
All you need is an antenna. Almost every NFL game can be watched without a cable subscription. The best way to do this (and watch any type of network programming) for free on the big screen is to use a good HD antenna. To ensure you get the most reliable signal, be sure to test the antenna in multiple locations around your home.
Can I stream live NFL games online if I don’t have a cable subscription?
Rather easily. Simply choose the service that suits you best.
Peacock
NBC’s streaming service will give you access to multiple games, including tonight’s contest and all upcoming Sunday night games. You can get a seven-day free trial, followed by a monthly fee of $6 or $12. (The free version of Peacock does not include live sports.)
Disney+
The Disney pack from Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ no longer offers a free trial, so you’ll have to pay $15 per month for all three handsets (or $25 per month without ads on Hulu).
Including live TV in the package bumps the price to $77 per month ($90 without ads).
Hulu with Live TV
Free trial on this service is also no longer offered. It will now cost you $77 per month.
YouTube TV
After until a two week trial, you can expect a monthly fee of $73. YouTube is also now home to Sunday Ticket. Prices for this service generally range from $300 to $439 for the season, with current discounts. YouTube, however, recently launched a mid-season special, dropping the price for the rest of the year to $174.
Sling TV
Dish Network’s lower-tier Sling “Orange” plan will cost you $40 per month. Adding the more comprehensive “Blue” plan bumps the cost to $55 per month. The seven-day free trial is gone, but the cord-cutting service offers 50% off the first month’s bill.
DirectTV Stream
Formerly known as DirecTV Now, AT&T TVNow and AT&T TV, this often renowned streaming service will cost you $75 per month and more after the free trial option.
Fubo TV
This sports-focused cord cutter service broadcasts from broadcast networks in most markets. There is a seven-day free trial, followed by monthly fees of $75 and up, depending on the channels you choose.
Can I watch NFL games on Amazon?
You can, but not today. Amazon is the home of Thursday Night Football, but does not offer other games. The next game on Amazon is between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints on October 19.
Does the NFL offer viewing packages to watch the games I want?
Three of them.
NFL app
THE NFL app will allow you to stream locally broadcast games to your market on Sundays. If you want to watch an “out of market” game, you have two choices.
NFL+
Watch live local and out-of-market matches and (with the premium subscription) replays. There is a seven-day free trial, after which you will have to pay $6.99 per month (including NFL Network). ($14.99 per month for the premium version, which includes NFL Network and RedZone.)
NFL Sunday Ticket
As mentioned above, YouTube has taken over the streaming duties of this channel, replacing DirecTV. With the discounts currently offeredprices for the service (and optional NFL Red Zone) currently range from $300 to $439 for the season.
