Selma Blair feels better than she has in years and is enjoying the supportive warmth of 2023. Glamorous Woman of the Year Award.
The actress hit the red carpet at the star-studded gala on Tuesday — held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City — and she shared a health update with ET, following his fight against multiple sclerosis.
“My health is good. I have been in remission since I had a bone marrow transplant,” Blair explained, “to stop the progression of MS, which was, for many, many years, burning.”
“So it took a while to recover,” she added of the procedure she underwent in 2021. “But I really, really feel a lot stronger now and I’m building my endurance. “
The actress added that “everything is fine” regarding her health and that she devotes her time and efforts to helping others.
“It’s been a really beautiful journey in this second part of my life, finding (my) community and realizing that nothing feels as good as helping to be a voice for others,” Blair shared .
The actress was one of the evening’s honorees at the Glamor Women of the Year Awards gala, and she reflected on the recognition she felt after her battle for public health.
“It’s my first time here, and it’s so wonderful to be honored. It’s incredible,” she shared with ET. “And in a time where we’re definitely burdened with a lot of thoughts in this world, it’s nice to come out and celebrate people who want to hear everyone’s voice.”
“It’s such an honor to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities,” Blair added.
