For years, Democrats have counted on Rep. Katie Porter Whiteboard And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Xwitter Ninja Skills for a welcome boost in social media morale, but now we have a new rising star, the one who burst onto the scene during the Republicans’ mock impeachment hearing in September.
Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz, the rare Florida man who is intentionally funny, has captured the hearts and minds of his constituents through humor, rather than Venmo, like some other Sunshine State representatives we won’t mention (but will link to).
And now, through the power of video, Moskowitz is taking aim at the growing Republican dysfunction that has caused a recent surge in departures among GOP House members.
It’s really hilarious. Appreciate:
The video, on the iconic “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan, the universal anthem for abandoned puppies (like George Santos and Kevin McCarthy) who have been abandoned by their owners– begins with a cheesy “in memoriam” title card before showing a photo of Santos, another of McCarthy and a video of Patrick McHenry forcefully banging his gavel. He then cuts to other still images of Santos, identifying him by his pseudonyms Anthony Devolder, Anthony Zabrovsky and Kitara Ravache, before signing off with a heartfelt “Gone But Not Forgotten” title card.
And while one might generally applaud the congressman’s staff for putting together such an Oscar-worthy montage, this one seems to have Moskowitz’s fingerprints all over it. After all, the guy is just plain funny. And brutal. And effective.
There he is on September 28, ripping out the rotten heart of Biden’s impeachment initiative from the Republican Party. As the former head of Florida’s Division of Emergency Management, he begins by observing, “I know a disaster when I see one,” and it builds from there.
Then again, maybe you prefer conservative “humor.” If so, we have what you need:
As we head into another busy, stress-filled election year, comic relief will be increasingly important. And if we get good, useful information to go with our yucks, hey, that’s just gravy.

So keep it up, Rep. Moskowitz, and…
