Footage captured by Raws Alerts shows New York police desperately trying to restrain dozens of male extremists as they burst into the 20-foot-wide enclosure beneath the women’s section, knocking over wooden benches in a fit of rage. The post office reported Hasidic men used hammers to break through the brick walls of the synagogue.

Several Jews refused to leave the tunnels despite massive police intervention, leading to the arrest of at least ten people to loud applause.

The footage also shows stained mattresses being removed from the tunnels, which will no doubt raise some questions.

The daily mail reports that although the young men argue with the synagogue over who owns the main property, the appeal of the ritual bath is unclear at this point.
Israeli national news reported The tunnels were dug six months ago and discovered last month when neighbors heard strange noises coming from beneath their homes. Following the discovery, the synagogue management called in structural engineers to analyze the damage.
The headquarters of Chabad-Lubavitch released a statement condemning the actions of the young rioters and thanking law enforcement.
The Chabad-Lubavitch community is grieved by the vandalism of a group of young agitators who damaged the synagogue beneath Chabad’s headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway on Monday evening.
