Trump admitted that he received money from foreign governments as president, while comparing himself to George Washington and claiming it was completely legal.
Trump was asked about the report by House watchdog Democrats that he took millions of dollars from foreign governments while he was president.
The former president responded: “I run hotels. Look how much money I gave back. George Washington, a very rich man. People don’t know it. In his White House, they had an office. He had a business office and a campaign office. You are allowed to do this. I did not do it. I trust everything. If I have a hotel and someone comes from China, that’s a small amount of money. I was doing services. People stay in nice hotels because I have the best hotels, clubs. I have some great stuff. They stood there and paid. I’m not making eight million dollars doing nothing like Hunter. I don’t get $500,000 to make a painting. It’s not a bad idea.

Trump admits he knew foreign governments were giving him money while staying in its hotels. Does anyone really think that these same governments would have spent this money on Asset hotel if he wasn’t the President of the United States.
Donald Trump also reiterated his theory that everything a president does is legal. There may have been no criminal law against what Trump did, but he violated the Constitution. There is a big difference between George Washington managing his agricultural interests and Donald Trump receiving money from foreign governments.
Trump confirmed the House Democratic report and, worse, tried to justify it.
