Xbox had some very good exclusives in 2023. Forza and even Star Field were huge – even if they didn’t have quite the impact that Bethesda and Microsoft might have hoped for. We do, however, think Starfield has the potential to improve by 2024. It’s not something we’re thinking too much about for this list, but it’s worth keeping in mind that it might be worth looking into. return in calmer periods.
But what’s new? What can we expect? Well you never know if Microsoft is just going to go out for lunch and acquire another massive publisher, so 2024 may well hold even more surprises. We can assume that it will continue to double down on its policy of injecting games into its network. Game Pass Subscription Servicecontinuing to deliver this unbeatable value for Xbox and PC gamers.
In terms of games, let’s take a look at some of the most interesting additions – in no particular order – coming to Xbox Series S and X in 2024.

Believe it or not, people bought Xboxes just to play Microsoft Flight Simulator when it came to consoles in 2022. Peripheral makers created console-compatible flight controls and it was a way for more players to discover the genre, without needing a war beast. a gaming PC to get the most out of it. Fast forward a few years and the new, a superb new generation version will soon be among us.
We’re a little concerned about how this will actually work if you’re packing an Xbox Series S. The quality looks pretty intense, but Microsoft hasn’t yet released a game that will only run on its high-end console, so we can take a guess that there might well be a slightly hobbled version for the S.

Xbox has already done well with pirate games with Rare’s enchanting Sea of Thieves having been on the platform for many years now – almost as long as Skull and Bones has actually been in development.
Skull and Bones however seems to bring a whole new level to pirate games with its huge open seas and the ability to lead your band of merry men (or was it Robin Hood mixing up our thieves).
If Ubisoft pulls this off, there’s definitely some buried treasure here and hopefully a game we can enjoy for a long, long time.

The first game in this series, Senua’s Sacrifice, blew a lot of people away. It was wonderfully well thought out and with the main character, Senua, suffering from a serious mental illness in the form of psychosis, the game could be both heartbreaking and touching.
We have been waiting for this sequel for a long time. If you were to point the finger at the original, it might just be to say that it was a bit ahead of the curve in terms of the technology it had. Now, with more power behind the Xbox and better GPUs in our PCs, we’re expecting something special.
If they get the story right and combine it with the graphical power at their disposal, this could be a game that works really well as an Xbox exclusive.
Bandai Namco

It’s been a decent year for fighting games. We had the return of the Mortal Kombat franchise, the Excellent DNF Duel, without forgetting Street Fighter 6. Tekken 8 should continue this momentum until the first months of 2024. One of the oldest fighters since the time from the original PlayStation in the 90s, it’s now on its 8th iteration, and it looks great in Unreal Engine 5. Put this one on your list, whether you’re a proven fight fan or a desperate button basher.

Not much is known about the upcoming open-world Star Wars game, other than that it’s the first time it’s been attempted, and that it takes place somewhere in the timeline between The Empire Strikes Back films. Attack and Return of the Jedi.
Ubisoft obviously has the ability to create beautiful worlds – we’ve seen it time and time again with the Assassin’s Creed series, and everyone is hoping they can make this Red Dead Redemption happen in space. We will closely monitor its development.
What else can we expect on Xbox in 2024
These are just a handful of the good things we can expect. Xbox next year. We already know that 2024 won’t be as big a year for gaming as 2023, but don’t rule it out just yet. There are many good things on the horizon for those who wait. Stay up to date with all this as we continue to grow our games section, here at readwrite.com
