The Secret Service has launched an investigation into country music singer and former Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider after he suggested that President Biden be publicly hanged.
Delay reported, “The federal agency charged with protecting POTUS, the vice president and their immediate families, as well as major political candidates and senior government officials, has opened an investigation into statements made online by the former Dukes of Hazzard star against the president and his son Hunter. Biden earlier today, Deadline has learned.
Schneider tweeted:

Schneider limited the damage and issued statements like this:
Seriously, friends? This is my last comment on this subject. I neither said nor implied such a thing. Despite headlines claiming otherwise, in my post I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten the US President like many other celebrities have done in the past. I suggest you re-read my current post and pay attention to the words before believing this nonsense.
It is my position, and I have the right to express it, that some of our national leaders in Washington have lost their way and that corruption is endemic, both at our nation’s borders and abroad. Transparency and accountability must be ensured for our constitutional republic to survive. . There is no threat implied or otherwise in this statement.
Kathy Griffin was canceled and lost a lot of work because of a photo for a magazine, but John Schneider thinks it’s perfectly okay to tweet a call for president. Biden being hanged publicly a few years after there were nooses at the Capitol and chants for the then-Speaker of the House and Vice President to be hanged.
Calling for the president to be hanged, even disguised as a belief, will attract the attention of the Secret Service.
John Schneider has come a long way down the right-wing rabbit hole since playing “just a good ol’ boy, who never means any harm.” on The Dukes Of Hazzard back in the day, and now the Secret Service might be coming knocking at his door.
