Ryan O’NealThe memorial service and celebration of life are in the works, and the late actor’s son, Patrick, is looking to the end of January for when it will all end.
Patrick took to Instagram on Thursday and shared some information about how he plans to honor the deceased. Moon paper star, died on December 8. He was 82 years old. In his post, Patrick shared a photo of himself covering his face with a black and white photo of the late actor in his youth. Patrick also shared that planning came with some challenges.
“I’m planning my dad’s memorial and celebration of life for the end of January and everyone who should be there will be there and it will be amazing trust me 🔥,” Patrick shared in his caption. “It will be a tribute to the man, his family, his love of boxing and his legendary acting career. I have my work cut out for me as Ryan took approximately 3 million photos and saved them 700,000 🥺.”
Earlier this month, it was Patrick who shared the sad news that his father was dead. Patrick took to Instagram and shared that O’Neal “passed away peacefully” on Dec. 8 “with his loving team by his side, supporting and loving him as he would us.”

O’Neal died at St. John’s Medical in Los Angeles, his death certificate shows. No other factors contributed to his death and he was buried at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park.
