Western oil is in talks to buy CrownRock, a major energy producer in the West Texas region of the Permian Basin, continuing a frenzy of deals in the oil sector.
A deal for the closely held company, which could be valued at well above $10 billion including debt, could be reached soon, provided negotiations fail or another suitor prevails not, according to sources close to the matter.
