In August 2022, TikTok entered into a ticketing partnership with Living NationTicketmaster, owned by TikTok, to allow TikTok users to purchase concert tickets from within the TikTok app.
Now, the companies are expanding this partnership to more than 20 new markets, following the beta launch in the United States in 2022. The feature has now been available for more than 20 years. 75,000 artists.
Integration is now live in UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Countries -Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
Certified TikTok artists in these participating countries can now select Ticketmaster under the “Add Link” option before posting a video.
They can then search for any event on Ticketmaster and select “Add to Video” to add the link. Once creators share their video, TikTok users will then see a “Get Tickets” button in the video description that directs users to purchase tickets on Ticketmaster.
So far, the partnership has seen ticketing campaigns for established and emerging artists, comedians and sports teams, including Niall Horan, The Kooks, Burna Boy and Shania Twain.
TikTok says there have been more than 2.5 billion video views using in-app functionality from artists, sports teams and event organizers since its beta launch.
The expansion of the partnership with Ticketmaster marks TikTok’s latest push into the world of live events.
Last month, TikTok announcement that it will host its first-ever live music event, called “TikTok In The Mix” on December 10, 2023, at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, which will also be broadcast worldwide via TikTok Live. (The venue’s ticketing partner is tickets.com and that TikTok’s promoter partner for the event is DWP.)
The lineup includes headliners Cardi B, Niall Horan, Anitta and Charlie Puth, as well as emerging talents Sam Barber, Isabel LaRosa, Kaliii and LU KALA from TikTok’s Elevate emerging artist program.
