New York Jets quarterback injured Aaron Rodgers A lot happened during that first weekend in December. He turned 40 on Saturday, then stood on the sideline Sunday and watched the Jets lose to the Atlanta Falcons while scoring eight points. Perhaps that was when Mr. Rodgers realized that it was highly unlikely to dress up again this year. A few called Rodgers delusional from the start, thinking he would play again this season. It looks like that bubble finally burst over his birthday weekend.
Even if the Jets had won on Sunday, the chances of Rodgers coming back and being effective on the field were slim. The optimistic attitude is something to admire, but whatever Rodgers’ logic was behind it, it was ridiculous at best. The Jets might be able to make the playoffs, and his return would still be a waste of time. Having Rodgers on the field barely able to move would be counterproductive.
Standing on the sidelines next to Zach Wilson, looking like his indifferent father-in-law, is the best place for Rodgers. Enjoy being 40 and throwing balls in practice because the Jets are done. The only part that’s unclear is whether Rodgers actually believed the Jets would be able to come back. A-Rod says so many absurd things In recent years, it’s hard to separate what’s real and what’s fiction with this guy.
What happened with the JETS Jets this year is what always happens. They end up doing the Jets thing even when there’s buzz around the team. This is the organization Rodgers so ardently wanted to play for. He’s supposed to be a good decision maker – so much for that notion. Rodgers pushed Green Bay into a corner because he only wanted to be traded to one team. Then everything blew up in their face at the start of the season. Talk about the most Jets thing ever; you have it here. It’s time for Aaron to return home to his cave, sample psychedelics, and hibernate for the winter. He certainly won’t be in any playoff games, at least not as a participant.
