Another Groundbreaking Designation from the US FDA for AWAK’s Predictive AI
Singapore-based medtech AWAK Technologies has earned its second breakthrough device designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its predictive AI.
Its Kidney Disease Progression Prediction (KDPP) AI model helps assess the risk of kidney disease progression and initiate renal replacement therapy. The model was developed in collaboration with Ever Fortune.AI, a spin-off of China Medical University Hospital.
The FDA designation is AWAK’s second, following that of its peritoneal dialysis machine in 2019.
AWAK will collaborate with Singapore General Hospital to test its KDPP model using the hospital’s anonymized data on chronic kidney disease patients. It is also in advanced talks to integrate its solutions with American partners.
