THE 75th Annual Emmy Awards I officially have a host! The Emmys announced on December 13 that Blackish star Antoine Anderson will host for the first time this season.
Hosted at LA Live’s Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, television’s biggest night will honor the talented performers, writers, directors and artisans whose work has entertained, inspired and connected viewers around the world throughout the past year.

“I’m excited. Anderson revealed that the annual awards ceremony would hold a special celebration to celebrate his milestone birthday. “There’s a special commemorative Emmy that’s going to be handed out that night to commemorate our 75th anniversary. The comedian joked that any famous friends concerned about the material he would prepare to make the crowd laugh during the show’s live broadcast should be wary of begging for mercy. It’s unlikely anyone is more excited about Anderson than his mother, Doris Bowmanwho has been alongside the actor as a comedic partner for several years.
When asked if he would bring his mother on stage with him on Emmy night, Anderson said that “of course” he would bring his “secret weapon” for his big night. “We don’t have that brand and that mother-son bond that we’ve built over the last 10 years without having her on stage at the Emmys,” he said of his Trippin’ with Anthony Anderson and Mama Doris co-star. “So we’ll find a way to get her in.”
As for working alongside her mother again, Anderson had nothing but praise for her We are a family co-host.
“You know, the best part for me is… my mother worked in entertainment and that never happened to her.
